A joint art and vinyl show from Pocket Studio/Dublab’s Jeffrey Plansker and Groove Merchant’s Chris Veltri.

Friday, May 17. 6-9 PM.

Saturday, May 18. Noon-5 PM.

Our friends Chris and Jeffrey have been collaborating on projects for the past decade and decided a joint art  and vinyl show at RappCats would be the perfect space to reel in friends from all their combined circles in the record collecting community and DJ’s, designers, writers, fans of printed matter, left field decorators, poster aficionados, photographers, book & magazine heads and the like.

In the tradition of Chris’s many Rappcats pop ups, there will be records offered of course – Chris is bringing a few hundred from SF, Egon is pulling crates from his collection, and there will be ample stock from the Rappcats store. What kinds of records? Great ones, affordable ones, and RARE ONES.

This isn’t just a record sale. This will be a special event and unique in its presentation. In addition to the art show, running “aesthetically” in tandem will be a massive amount of printed matter on sale. There will be jazz posters and psych rock handbills and music ephemera checking nearly every box.

There will be a massive magazine collection of literally hundreds of rare periodicals from the 1960’s through the 1990’s that cover art, photography, music, fashion, and all cultural intersections in between. There will be found photography, label catalogs, left field Americana, mid-century design books, car culture paper, signage, counter culture and drug related ephemera, fringe zines, alternative and experimental art movements and more. The posters on hand will be impressive and covering a similar head space.

Opening night reception party for the show and sale will be Friday evening with the Rappcats crew pouring wine from Broc Cellars for friends 21 and over and Chris, Jeffrey and some very special guests sharing DJ duties.
